Speech Separation Methodology for Hearing Aid

چکیده
In the design of hearing aids (HA), real-time speech-enhancement is done. The digital should provide high signal-to-noise ratio, gain improvement and eliminate feedback. generic performance towards different frequencies varies non uniform. Existing noise cancellation speech separation methods drops voice magnitude under environment. HA for frequency response suppression reduce required signal strength also. So, uniform sub band analysis poor when aid concern. this paper, a method using Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) algorithm proposed wavelet decomposition. Proposed non-uniform filter-bank was validated by parameters like power, Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), Mean Square Error (MSE), Signal to Noise Distortion Ratio (SINAD), Spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR), error time. recordings before after evaluated quality objective measures International Telecommunication Union -Telecommunication standard ITU-T P.862.

Time-frequency masking for speech separation and its potential for hearing aid design.
A new approach to the separation of speech from speech-in-noise mixtures is the use of time-frequency (T-F) masking. Originated in the field of computational auditory scene analysis, T-F masking performs separation in the time-frequency domain. This article introduces the T-F masking concept and reviews T-F masking algorithms that separate target speech from either monaural or binaural mixtures...
متن کاملCognition in Hearing Aid Users: Memory for Everyday Speech
Hearing impairment interferes with speech communication. Hearing aids are designed to provide amplification for individuals with poor auditory sensitivity. Signal processing algorithms are implemented in hearing aids to further improve speech understanding and to reduce listening effort in noise. When listening effort is reduced, fewer resources are assumed to be needed for speech perception an...
متن کاملNeural networks for speech separation for binaural hearing aids
This paper deals with the use of neural networks for separating speech from other noisy sources in binaural hearing aids. In sound separation systems implemented in binaural hearing aids, the right and left hearing aids need to transmit to each other some parameters involved in the speech separation algorithm. The problem is that this transmission reduces the battery life, which is one of the m...
متن کاملSpeech recognition in noise for hearing-impaired subjects: effects of an adaptive filter hearing aid.
Speech-recognition thresholds (SRTs) were obtained in nine sensorineural hearing-impaired subjects wearing an adaptive-filter hearing aid under four separate listening conditions. The SRT was obtained with the filter in and out of the circuit in order to relate the effects of noise reduction to speech recognition performance. The noise level was held constant while the speech level varied (tran...
متن کاملSpeech-recognition performance after long-term hearing aid use.
Larson et al (2000) reported the findings of a multicenter, NIDCDNA clinical trial that compared hearing aid performance for three output limiting circuits in 360 adults with symmetrical sensorineural hearing loss. The current study was undertaken to examine long-term hearing aid benefit in this same group of participants following five to six years of hearing aid use. The speech-recognition po...
